Delays due to staff shortages

We're currently experiencing some delays due to illness-related staff shortages.

While we will still endeavour to keep our turn around times as high as possible with the available staff, there might be a slight delay with support requests, buylist processing, and dispatching of larger orders (50+ cards), and registered mail.

With any luck, our absent team members will be feeling 100% in no time, and we'll be firing on all cylinders again!


Delays due to flooding in South East Queensland

Due to the flooding in South East Queensland, we will be closed at least until Wednesday 2, March.

On Tuesday evening, we'll re-evaluate if it is safe for staff to travel to work, and reopen the premesis.
All shipping will be suspended until we reopen.
As there will be a backlog of orders to process, and not all staff will be able to return to work immediately, please expect some delays until we're back up and running at full capacity.

We appreciate your understanding during this time.


Shipping during 2021 Holiday Season

2021 is almost coming to a close. I'm sure you're all as eager as us to take a break and make the most of the holiday period. We'll be closing our offices for a brief period over the break.

Orders placed on or before December 19th will get mailed out before we escape for the year.
Any orders placed after this date will be mailed out by Thursday, January 6th when we're back and operating at full capacity.

Buylist orders will also be subject to the above changes.

If you do want to place an order during our shutdown period (Dec 20th - Jan 4th), use the coupon code "XMAS2021" to get 5% off cards on your orders placed before January 5th.

Brisbane Lockdowns July/August 2021

In light of the current Brisbane Lockdown, we anticipate some delays throughout the business.

This will extend to:

  • Orders being dispatched
  • Buylist orders being received and processed
  • Delivery delays by Australia Post
  • As we become more aware of what these delays are, and how they affect the daily operation of MTG MATE, we'll make posts and endeavour to keep everyone up to date. As always, we'll be contactable through our support email.

    Your understanding and patience while we work through these difficult times is appreciated.


    Strixhaven Preorders

    Strixhaven is just around the corner! As we do with most new set releases, we're going to offer cards up for preorder.

    While the official release date of this product is April 23rd, supply issues are still prevalent with new Wizards products and we are pushing our expected shipping date. Currently we have the preorder delivery date set to May 4th.

    That being said, as soon as we receive our product, we'll begin shipping immediately.


    Easter Holidays 2021 Shipping Changes

    During the Easter break, MTG MATE will be closing for a brief period.

    Any orders that are placed before 11:59pm, Wednesday 31st March, will be shipped on the next business day. Orders placed after then will be shipped on Wednesday 7th, April when we're back and operating at full capacity.

    Buylist orders will also be subject to the above changes.


    Shipping delays due to emergency shutdown in Greater Brisbane

    Greater Brisbane is about to enter a 72 hour lockdown, starting 6pm tonight.

    As a result, we will be suspending shipping immediately and will resume Tuesday, January 12th when mandatory lockdown ends.

    Potential delays with Double Masters Preorders

    Double Masters is almost upon us! As we do with most new set releases, we're going to offer cards up for preorder.

    Due to COVID-19, there is a potential that this product will also be delayed, similar to Jumpstart. With current estimates, we anticipate still being able to have the set ready to ship out on the Monday 10th August, just after the offical release date.

    There is a potential that this product is delayed past this date. Rest assured, that the moment we receive the product, we'll be working tirelessly to get it as quickly as we can into your hands.

    We appreciate your understanding as we deal with these challenges and will endeavour to keep everyone in the loop should future delays arise.


    Express Post delays due to COVID-19

    Express Post is still available however Australia Post has suspended their Express Post guarantee. You can read the Australia Post announcement here.

    MTG MATE will still be ensuring that packages go out daily, but please be aware that your Express Post deliveries might take a little bit longer than the typical next day delivery.


    Shipping delays due to COVID-19

    With a massive upswing in online shopping across all industries, Australia Post has been experiencing delays as they attempt to deal with the volume. Australia Post has information on how the network is affected here.

    While MTG MATE is still processing and shipping out orders daily, we are no longer submitting packages via an Australia Post outlet.

    As a result, it might take a few days for tracking numbers to report any valid tracking information. Rest assured, we have shipped your package, it just hasn't appeared Australia Post's system yet.

    Over the last few weeks, we've made the following observations:

    • Some registered packages have taken 10 business days or more to arrive. Ordinarily we would expect them to arrive within 4-5 days for most areas.
    • Registered packages are receiving fewer tracking updates. In many cases, the first tracking update is from the destination post office.
    • Express Post appears to be largely unaffected with respect to delivery times and tracking updates.

    We recommend that customers wishing to receive their package in a timely fashion choose the express post option.

    We'll still offer registered post as an option, but just wanted everyone to be aware of the above.

    If it has been 10 business days since you placed your order, and you have still not received a tracking update, please reach out and we'll gladly launch an enquiry with Australia Post.


    Buylist processing delays in light of COVID-19

    In response to COVID-19, MTG MATE will be making some temporary changes to buylist processing:

    • Mail collection will change from daily to weekly
    • All buylist orders will be held for 72 hours before being processed

    We will still endeavour to process buylists as quickly as possible under these new constraints.
